Top Junior Wideout Favors Michigan!

No post-Signing-Day hangover at GoBlueWolverine!

Fortunately for Michigan, if a key recruit is lost on Signing Day, there is often a highly touted guy right behind.

Here's a Top Junior Wideout who tells us he is going to decide ... "Soon."

We talked yesterday (Wed.) to wide receiver. Mario Manningham (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) from Warren, Ohio. Warren G. Harding High School is the alma mater of Prescott Burgess, and as Burgess was two years ago, Manningham is listed by some as the top junior prospect in Ohio!

Hi Mario, good to talk to you again.

"Yeah. I met you after the Indiana game last fall, right?"

Right. I told you at the time we'd call you after this year's LOI's were in. So let's get right to it -- has Michigan offered you a scholarship?

"Yes, they have. I was at the Michigan Camp last summer, and Coach Carr talked to me afterward and offered me a scholarship to Michigan."

Did you make it up for any other Michigan games?

"No, just Indiana. I was all set to go to the OSU game, but I came down ill with the flu."

Mario, we've been hearing for some time now that Michigan is your favorite . Do you care to either confirm that, or else to dispel the rumor once and for all?

"Yes, Michigan is my favorite!"

Did Michigan come by your school his month?

"Yes. Coach Loeffler came by, just to say hi to my coaches."

Do you want to make an early decision?

"Yes. I don't know yet just how early though. I'm busy with basketball right now -- I'm a shooting guard."

Harding had a great season this past fall, losing in the playoffs to go 11-1. Do you know your season stats?

"Yeah, thanks. I'm proud of the season we had, and hope to keep it up next year. As far as receptions, I don't know exactly. I think I had ... 32 receptions, for around 700-some yards, and 11 touchdowns.

We expect Manningham to make the early junior Top 100 lists.
