SC OL Getting Attention from Michigan

Offensive lineman Jamarcus Grant is an imposing barrier for any opposing defense. The Mullins, S.C. star is receiving letters from big time programs across the country, including Michigan. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Grant on Monday evening, here's the latest.

The list of schools in contact with Jamarcus Grant is impressive and includes Tennesee, South Carolina, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Stanford, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Georgia, and Michigan. Is there any particular school that stands out for the standout? "Not really," Grant said. "None of them have offered me a scholarship yet so I don't have any favorite. Once I get scholarship offers then I'll start looking at playing time and things like that."

The Mullins, S.C. lineman plays tackle on both sides of the ball. He reports defensive stats for 2003 as 37 tackles, 12 for loss, and five sacks. "I prefer the offense though," he said. "That's where I want to play in college."

Grant reports receiving letters from Michigan. "I'm excited they are in contact with me," he said. "They're a great program, but right now I'm not looking at anyone real close."

Grant said he will be attending Junior Day at the University of South Carolina this weekend, and plans to camp this summer at Tennessee. While he says the community is putting on the pressure to stay close to home, his family is letting him make his own decision. "They want me to go where I'll be happy," he said.

The big man says he would like to major in Business Administration and reports a 2.9 grade point average. You can bet things will heat up this summer for the talented lineman, GBW will keep you updated.
