Illinois Lineman High on Michigan

In what is seemingly a great year for linemen in the Land of Lincoln, Libertyville high school&#8217;s (Libertyville, IL) <strong>David Moosman</strong> is one of the most sought after in the state of Illinois. With six scholarships already in hand, the most recent from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, this young man has plenty options. The Wolverines have expressed interest in the talented prospect and they may have a slight advantage in his recruitment.

What schools have offered you thus far?

“I’ve received offers from Wisconsin Iowa Northwestern Notre Dame Illinois and Arizona.”

Which of those schools have you visited?

“I’ve visited Wisconsin, Illinois, Notre Dame, and I’m going to visit Northwestern Friday.”

Did you grow up a fan of any particular school?

“You could say Michigan.”

Has Michigan been in contact?

“Yes, Michigan has been in contact. I’ve received a couple of letters and Coach Andy Moeller came by my school.”

Describe yourself as a player. Is there anyone that you would compare yourself to?

“I’m 6-4 260 pounds. There aren’t any lineman I’d really compare myself to me. I’d just like to make myself a more well rounded player. I’m big and I think I’m pretty strong.”

Have you camped at any of the schools on your list?

“I’ve camped at Wisconsin and Iowa.”

Do you play any other sports?

“I compete in wrestling and track.”

What are some of your accomplishments in those?

“Last year in wrestling I won conference, sectionals, and regionals and I did the same thing this year. Plus I was 4th in the state (of Illinois) this year in the heavyweight division.”

Were you at Michigan’s junior day a few weeks ago? Have you ever visited the campus?

“No, I’ve never been there before. I had a wrestling conflict with the junior day, but I plan on getting up there for an unofficial visit as well as camping there this summer.”

What are some of the things you’ll be looking for in the school that you pick?

“I’ll be looking at the coaching staff and how well we mesh…. the graduation rate for the football players as well as all of the athletes. I’ll also be looking at how well regarded they are in my planned major.”

What are you looking to major in?

“I’m looking at business and economics.”

Have you given any thought to a time frame for your decision?

“I’m pretty sure I’m going to wait until the signing day because it’s pretty fun and not many people get to do this. So I’m just going to take my time and have fun with it.”
