Wide Receiver Visits U-M, Gets Offer

The Wolverines had a top Midwest wide receiver attend spring practice yesterday -- and he came away with a Michigan scholarship offer.

Fort Wayne (Indiana) Harding High School is on spring break this week. And so top wide receiver Selwyn Lymon used to opportunity to travel to Ann Arbor with his head coach -- and his efforts were rewarded!

The tall, athletic Lymon (6-5, 190 lbs., 4.4 in the 40, 36 inch vert., 285 lb. bench press) told us this (Wed.) afternoon:

"Yeah, my coach and I went to Ann Arbor yesterday to a Michigan Spring Practice."

Tell us about it.

"It was nice, I liked it -- the practice was long and looked tough! Afterwards I met some of the players, and went to the stadium. I also met and got to hang out with Doug Dutch and Chad Henne who were there."

Did you get to talk to Coach Carr?

"Yeah. My coach and I went into his office. He offered me scholarship to Michigan!"

Are you going to visit anywhere else this spring?

"I might make a Purdue visit."

Who has offered you a scholarship at this point?

"Purdue, Wisconsin, and now Michigan. But I wouldn't say I have a final list of favorites yet."

Do you plan to attend any camps this summer?

"Yes, I want to stop by the Michigan Camp. That's probably it -- then our own camp starts."

Harding did real well last season, didn't it.

"Yeah, we went 13-2 I think. We lost one game in the regular season, and then we lost in the state finals."

And you're a track star as well?

"I finished second in the state in the long jump last year (22-4.5, second to fellow U-M recruit Donald Washington) and sixth in the 400 meters."

We have you listed at 6-5, and with a 4.4 in the 40 ... is the 40 time legit?

"It's a hand-held time ... but my coach recently timed me at 4.38."

Lymon is a Max Emfinger 4 Star Prospect.
