Who Do We Expect To See Tomorrow in Columbus

GBW has ventured into enemy territory to attend tomorrow's Nike Camp in Columbus, Ohio. At these combine/camps you never really know who's going to show up until it starts. But here is a list of Michigan recruits and possible recruiting targets we will be watching for.

Note: The kids listed below have indicated that they expect to attend (except for those denoted as "Might attend": those are simply Ohio kids who we believe U-M may be looking at).

The best event of a Nike Combine day is always the final one: Quarterbacks throwing to Wideouts who are being covered by Defensive Backs.

Some Quarterbacks we hope and/or expect to see:

- Athlete (QB/RB/WR) Antonio Bass (6-1, 190 lbs., 4.4 in the 40, 3.0 GPA) from Jackson, Mich. He has a U-M OFFER and attended the Feb. 29 Junior Day, a U-M spring practice, and the Michigan Spring Game as well. He is one of the consensus top three instate juniors, and could play quarterback, wideout, running back or cornerback. Michigan leads for him, but schools like Virginia Tech and Syracuse are a threat. He is Max Emfinger's #4 "Athlete."

- Quarterback Jason Forcier (Planned 2004 U-M Camper, 6-2, 205 lbs.) from San Diego St. Augustine. He was a 2002 U-M camper, and attended the OSU game last fall -- his dad is from Michigan and Jason grew up a U-M fan. As a junior (at Santa Ana Mater Dei) he passed for 1,370 yards and 10 touchdowns and rushed for 801 yards and eight touchdowns.

- Might attend: Quarterback Rob Schoenhoft (2001/02/03 Michigan camper, Planned 2004 Camper, 6-6, 225 lbs.) from Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Xavier. He has camped at Michigan three years so far. He now has offers from Michigan State, Maryland, and UC (Cincinnati). Last fall he made unofficial visits for the Indiana and OSU games and told us (and he reconfirmed it with Bucknuts.com) that Michigan is his favorite school, with OSU #2. He's a Max Emfinger 4-star prospect.

- Might attend: Quarterback Miles Schleister (2003 Michigan Camper, 6-3, 180 lbs.) from Washington Court House, Ohio. This friend of the Mark Bihl family is the nephew of Art Schlichter. He attended the OSU game last fall, and the 2003 Michigan Camp.

Some Wideouts we hope and/or expect to see:

- Wide receiver Donald Washington (6-3, 180 lbs., 4.5 in the 40, 38 inch vertical jump, 3.4 GPA) from Indianapolis, Ind. He attended a U-M spring practice, and the OSU game last fall. As a junior he made 45 catches for 797 yards and seven touchdowns in just nine games; he sat out almost two full games with a stress fracture in his foot. He is also the state champ in the long jump (23-2.25). He has an early Stanford offer.

- Wideout (he's a Punter too) Michael Koster (6-4, 210 lbs., 4.64 in the 40) from Lowell, Mich.

- Wideout Keith Massey (Possible '04 U-M Camper, 6-1, 185 lbs.) from Columbus, Ohio, Marion-Franklin.

- Might attend: Wide Receiver Brian Hartline (6-3, 185 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) from Canton, Oh., Glen Oak.

- Might attend: U-M Junior commitment #4: Wide receiver Mario Manningham (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) from Warren, Ohio, Harding (the alma mater of Prescott Burgess). Manningham, a long-time Michigan fan, made an unofficial visit to Michigan for the Indiana game, and committed to the Wolverines on Feb. 5, the day after Signing Day. Considered one of Ohio's top three prospects, as a junior he made 32 receptions, for 700 yards and 11 touchdowns as Harding went 10-1. He is Max Emfinger's Wide Receiver #2.

Some Defensive Backs we hope and/or expect to see:

- Cornerback Brandon Harrison (Planned 2004 Michigan Camper, 5-9, 200 lbs., 4.4 in the 40, 10.6 100 meters, 315 lb. bench press, 3.0 GPA/17 ACT) from Dayton, Ohio Chaminade-Julienne. He is Max Emfinger's #2 Free Safety, and has an Iowa offer. He attended the Feb. 29 Junior Day.

- Defensive back Marcus Council (6-0, 205 lbs.) from Akron, Oh., Garfield. He attended the Feb. 29 Junior Day, and a spring practice.

- Cornerback Dominic Jones (2003 U-M Camper, Planned '04 U-M Camper, 5-9, 185 lbs.) from Columbus, Oh., Brookhaven. He attended the 2004 U-M Spring Game.

- Cornerback Bruce Hampton (Planned 2004 U-M Camper, 5-10, 180 lbs., 4.5 in the 40) from Bedford, Oh., St. Peter Chanel. OSU is his fav.

- Safety Alex Daniels (6-3, 222 lbs., 4.5 in the 40, 3.2 GPA) from Columbus, Ohio, Marion-Franklin.

- Safety Adam Myers-White (Possible 2004 Michigan Camper, 6-3, 200 lbs.) from Hamilton, Ohio. The former head coach at Hamilton was Wolverine Andy Mignery's father. And White's dad played for Bo. He reportedly has a U-M OFFER, he told us he'd attend a spring practice, and he may attend the 2004 Michigan Camp ... but OSU leads.

The Running Backs and the Linebackers end their day going against each other:

Some Running Backs we hope and/or expect to see:

- Tailback Javon Ringer (Planned 2004 Michigan Camper, 5-10, 200 lbs., 4.35 in the 40 {2003 OSU Camp}, 360 lb. bench press) from Dayton, Oh., Chaminade Julienne. As a junior he rushed for 2,356 yards (10.8 yards per carry) and 30 touchdowns. He has an Iowa offer. U-M and OSU are the favs for the Max Emfinger 4 star prospect.

Some Linebackers we hope and/or expect to see:

- Linebacker Nick Simon (Planned 2004 Michigan Camper, 6-2 1/2, 220 lbs., 4.7 in the 40, 2.8 GPA) from Shaker Heights, Oh. He lists Notre Dame (his fav.), U-M, and BC, plus PItt., West Virginia and OSU.

The Offensive Linemen and Defensive Linemen end the day in drills against each other:

Some Linemen we hope and/or expect to see:

- Nose tackle Terrance Taylor (2003 U-M Camper, 6-0, 285 lbs., 4.9 in the 40, 2.8 GPA/20 ACT) from Muskegon, Mich. Taylor is one of the top two instate juniors, and has a Michigan OFFER. He attended the Jan. 29 U-M Junior Day and a spring practice. He attended several Michigan games last fall, and tells us Michigan is his leader. As a junior he made 68 tackles including 10 sacks. He is one of USA Today's Top Ten Juniors. He is Max Emfingers #3 Nose Tackle.

- Might attend: DT/OL Ryan Custer (Planned 2004 Michigan Camper, 6-4, 290 lbs.) from Troy, Ohio (he is the teammate of Todd Denlinger who is considered the top Ohio junior DE).

- Might attend: Offensive lineman Phillip Pollard (Planned 2004 Michigan camper, 6-5, 275 lbs., 4.9 in the 40, 310 lb. bench press, 2.6 GPA) from Westerville, Oh., South. U-M is in his early top 3 with Pitt and OSU.

- Might attend: OL/DL Matthew Tennant (Possible '04 U-M Camper, 6-5, 250 lbs., 4.8 in the 40) from Cincinnati Moeller.

- Might attend: Offensive lineman David White (Possible 2004 Michigan Camper, 6-2 1/2, 300 lbs., 5.26 in the 40) from Chardon, Ohio.

- Michign attend: Defensive/offensive tackle Rocco Cirroni (6-6, 250 lbs.) from Warren, Ohio, Harding. He attended the OSU game last fall. He's a Max Emfinger 4-star prospect.
