Zack Hennis: Nice and Light at 295!

One of the top two lineman at Saturday's Ohio State Nike Camp has been a frequent visitor to Ann Arbor in 2004. But while we have been seeing more of Zach Hennis, there has less to him than met the eye a year ago!

A huge presence in Ann Arbor, both at the Feb. 29 Junior Day and the Spring Game, has been 6-8 Offensive Tackle Zach Hennis from Plain City, Ohio, Jonathan Alder. But whereas in our "Best Guess List" we had Zach listed at 340 pounds, at this past Saturday's Ohio State Nike Camp he looed absolutely svelte! We talked to his father about the transformation.

"Zack was over 340 pounds a year ago. He decided that if he was going to play college ball he had to increase his mobility and get into shape. So he's really worked at it over the past year and has dropped 40-some pounds."

So what did he weigh at the Saturday?

"He weighed 295. He says it feels great to be light!"

Well, Zach showed good mibility out there. What was his 40 yard dash time?

"He ran a 5.3. He feels good about getting his 40 time down there ... he says he feels light on his feet now."

Then we asked the soft-spoken Zach himself.

Zach, we're seen you around Michigan a lot this winter and spring!

"(Smiling ...) Yeah, I was at Michigan's Junior Day in the winter (on Feb. 29 for the OSU basketball game), and at the Spring Game last weekend."

So, do you have a list of favorites?

"Yes. My favorite schools are Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame." He said that none of the three schools has offered him yet (ed. note: it's early tough ... wait until summer camp time is over IMO)."

Are you going to any camps this summer?

"I'm planning to camp at Michigan, and at Ohio State."
