Texas' Top OT Gets U-M Visit; Will He Return Favor?

Last night (Tues.) GoBlueWolverine spoke once again to Texas' top offensive tackle prospect, Reginald Youngblood from Houston Washington. Will he visit Michigan?

Reginald Youngblood is 6-5, 275 lbs., with 5.1 in the 40, and a 3.5 GPA/880 SAT. And Houston Washington is the alma mater of former Michigan great, WR Mercury Hayes -- who was a bookend to Amani Toomer in the 1992-95 Michigan offense.

Has Michigan been my your school?

"Yes Michigan was at my school -- just today. It was Coach Jackson. He also watched me practice after school. We're having spring football practice right now. And my dad and I talked to him earlier tonight."

Michigan has offered you a scholarship, correct?

"Michigan offered me a scholarship a while ago, in the winter."

Do you plan to take one of your official visits to Michigan?

"Yes. I told you that the last time we talked - that my dad and I would make an official visit to Michigan."

You have said your early leaders are LSU and Texas. Has Michigan moved up with them?

"Most likely. Actually, I don't have a set favorite or top two. Texas and LSU are the only two schools I've visited, that's all."

"But I'm not going to make a decision until I take all of my visits."

When we spoke to Reggie a month ago he gave us a top five, and recently he has reiterated it: "LSU, UT ( Texas), Michigan, Iowa and Oklahoma."

And one more thing: Reggie knows all about the U-M connection with Houston Washington High. When we talked to him before he said, "Yeah -- Mercury! I know all about Mercury!"
