Check back for part 2 of our evaluations and interviews with more players of interest tomorrow.

So what does your decision timetable look like at this point?

“Right now I’m thinking about trying to commit later in the fall. I’m taking a visit in a couple of weeks to Florida and early in June I’m going to Syracuse. I’ve already been to both Michigan schools. Right now I’m just looking around seeing what everybody is trying to say. Hopefully I’ll be able to come to a decision by late fall.”

What are going to be the most significant factors in your choice?

“Playing time right away. I want to come in and contribute right away as a freshman. I’ve got to like the campus, the people around me, and the coaching staff. But the main thing is I want to come in and contribute right away as a freshman.”

What position are you looking to play in college?

“I can play the 1 or the 2, but right now my main position is the 2. College Coaches have been telling me I can play the 1 though.”

Did Michigan begin to show interest in you again once you re-opened your recruitment?

“Oh yeah, definitely. Coach Swenson came up to my school a couple of times to watch me work out and I’ve talked to Coach Amaker a couple of times and he has been to our open gyms. So they’re definitely showing me interest.”

Have they offered you?

“No they haven’t me a scholarship.”

What initially made you choose Michigan State?

“It’s nothing against Michigan State that I de-committed. I still like them. I think I just went up to a football game and got caught up in the hype and I got along real well with the guys and made my decision a little too quick.”

Would you say that they are the favorite?

“Right now nobody is the favorite to tell you the truth. Everybody is right there.”

Is distance from home going to be a factor?

“No, not at all.”

Did you have a favorite team growing up?

“Really I liked North Carolina growing up, but everything changes once you hear people talk to you.”

GBW will be keeping tabs on Eric throughout the summer.
