Eric Lorig from Rolling Hills Calif. worked out at tight end Saturday, and was athletic and 'fast enough' ... he is also a guy who could play several positions in college, including DE or OLB. After the camp he told us he is interested in U-M -- and visa versa:
"I'm very interested in Michigan. I took a trip to Michigan this spring during their spring practice."
"I think Michigan is about to offer me."
As far as how he did at the combine:
"I measured 6-4, 250 lbs. and ran a 4.7 sec. 40. I had a 30 inch vertical jump and did 26 bench press reps. I slipped on my shuttles and scratched them."
And as far as what position he is being recruited for:
"So far I've only played tight end, and that's the position I'm being recruited for. Some schools are saying defensive end or linebacker --I've never played either of those, but if a coach can explain to me why they see me at another position, that's okay. I don't really care where I play."
"This summer I'm not going to any camps. My coach wants us to stay around."
