Is Moosman Coming to Camp?

Offensive lineman David Moosman from Libertyville, Ill., High School is one of the top prospects in a talent-rich state this year. He has listed Michigan near the top of his list of favorites during his entire recruitment so far. GoBlueWolverine Magazine caught up with Moosman to see if he will be attending next week's Michigan Football Camp.

"Yeah, I'm going up for a day," David Moosman said. "I'm going up to Wisconsin for a day tomorrow (Thursday) and I went to Iowa last Saturday for the day. I also plan on going to the Notre Dame camp for a day but I'm not sure when."

Moosman said he is up to 11 offers. "Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Notre Dame, Northwestern, UCLA, and Michigan State are the top schools for him now, he said. "There are other schools that have offered, but right now those are the ones that are on top." While most of the schools on his list are located in the Midwest, he does have an interest in the one West Coast school that has offered. "Oh I will definitely give UCLA a lot of consideration," he said.

He said Michigan coach Andy Moeller paid a visit to Libertyville during the spring evaluation period, and he has spoken on the phone with the coach often. He does have a position preference. "Most schools are recruiting me for either tackle or guard, but I'd rather play tackle," he said.

The 6 foot 4, 260-pound lineman has said he's been a Michigan fan all his life, but that doesn't make the Wolverines a lock for this talented player. "I've always liked Michigan," he said, "But they have a pretty full line-up at the positions I play, not that that's a big deal, but it is something I will look at." He said no school stands out for playing time. "There isn't anyone telling me I can come in and start right away as a freshman," he said. "As a matter of fact almost everyone I've talked to has recommended that I red-shirt my freshman year. I don't have a problem with that at all."

The big man said he will take all his visits after his season ends, after which he will decide.
