Wolverines Lead Big for Big Hennis

Big offensive lineman Zach Hennis from from Jonathan Alder high school in Plain City, Ohio was in Ann Arbor Sunday night for the first day of the Michigan camp. He came away feeling better about the Wolverines, and is waiting to make a decision. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Hennis about his time at camp, and when that decision will come.

We just went up for the day, I've been up there for Junior Day and a basketball game so there wasn't much else to see," Zach Hennis said. "The coaches told me they were real impressed with me and they want to see my first couple of games this season before they offer."

The 6 foot 8, 310-pound lineman made it clear the Wolverines were his top school. The only thing that will make things final will be an offer. "I would have committed if they had offered," he said. "I want to go to Michigan and if I have to wait until the season that is fine. If and when they offer I'll commit."

As it is, Hennis is not going to be idle this summer. With an offer already in hand from Akron, the big man plans on camping at several other schools, including Akron. "I'll be at the Kentucky camp next week and it would be nice to come away with an offer," he said. "I wouldn't commit but it would still be nice. I'm also going to camp at Northwestern in July."

GoBlueWolverine first witnessed Hennis in action at the Ohio State Nike Camp this past spring. He caught our attention by being one of the best big men at the camp. He moves well for his size and has great strength. He put up 29 reps on the bench press at 185, and says he can max 360.
