NBPA Interviews: Eric Boateng

At the recent Top 100 camp in Richmond, Delaware center Eric Boateng took the time to discuss where his recruitment stands with GBW. The Wolverines remain right in the thick of the race.

How do you think the camp went for you?

“I was shaky for the first two days, but it started going well after that. I started to really get into it and started to feel good.”

You visited Michigan a few months back. How did that go?

“It was real good. I went around campus, met the guys, and talked to the coaches. I liked them a lot. I also went to some of the classes and I thought that was pretty good too.”

How about your UCLA visit?

“That was good too. I enjoyed myself out there.”

How did the visits compare?

“It’s a totally different lifestyle out there. It’s just a different environment. They’re both great schools.”

Did you make it to Duke’s camp?

“Yeah I did.”

How was it?

“It was similar to this camp, but it was more intimate because there was less people. I was able to do 1-on-1 workouts with the coach and then get some games in after that. I was also able to do some lifting.”

So what are your top 5 schools at this point?

“(Laughing) I don’t know if I can give a top 5. My list of schools would be Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Duke, UCLA, Michigan, Villanova, and Virginia.”

What are going to be the factors in your decision?

“Just comfort level. Most of the schools I’ve been to have great academics and great coaches. Now it’s just do I see myself excelling in that program.”

When do you think you’ll make your decision?

“Whenever man. I don’t really have a time frame. It could be next week or it could be in a month’s time. Whenever I feel really good about a school, I’ll go ahead and do it.”

Do you plan to take any other visits?

“Yeah, hopefully in the fall.”

Which schools do you think you might make it to?

“I’ll try to figure that out around that time. As of right now, I don’t know.”
