Will Robby Be a Michigan Wolverine?

When GoBlueWolverine Magazine recently spoke with the mother of quarterback Robbie Schoenhoft from Xavier high school in Cincinnati, she said her son may not be making the trek to Florida for their camp. GBW caught up with Robby himself Wednesday evening, and he updated for us his summer schedule and the teams he favors. Is Michigan on top?

"I probably won't be going to Florida this weekend," Rob Schoenhoft said. "It's still not final but my chances of picking Florida are real low so it doesn't make a lot of sense to go." He said Michigan is on top, followed closely by Michigan State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

Schoenhoft had recently attended camp at Notre Dame, where he expected to receive an offer. While an offer did eventually come, the timeline of events was odd to the four-star quarterback. "I don't really know what the deal with that was," he said. "I think they offered Mark Sanchez three months ago so for them to wait so long to offer me kinda turned me off from them. They're still on my list but there isn't much chance I'll go there."

So, what is left for the 6 foot 6, 235-pound Schoenhoft. "I'm done with camps until the Elite 11," he said. "That's most likely where I'll make my decision. My mom and dad, and my girlfriend are coming out. I'm going out a little early and they'll meet me."

While Schoenhoft didn't show his hand as far as which school he'll pick, the fact that he has Michigan on top with no more school visits scheduled appears to give the edge to the Wolverines. Given this situation, he told IrishEyes yesterday that, "Michigan is my leader. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger," and that, "I have a pretty good idea where I'm going," making the case for a U-M pledge seem strong. He did give one word of caution. IrishEyes asked if Chad Henne was the only hurdle to him committing to Michigan. "Yeah, pretty much. You have to compete anyway though," Schoenhoft said.

GBW will keep you up to date as this situation develops.
