What do you consider yourself in college?
"I can play the 1 through the 3. It doesn’t really matter. Everybody projects me as something different, but it doesn’t really matter. I’ll play where ever the coach wants me."
What do you get out of a camp like this?
"Just competition. Seeing how good you are against the best players from around the country. And of course developing your skills and improve everything. Also to meet new people."
Talk about the in state schools.
"I like Michigan and Michigan State because they’re close to home. My people can come see me play. It would be easier for them. I like Coach Izzo and Coach Amaker. I think Coach Izzo is a great coach. So, I like the in-states because my people can come see me play much easier than anywhere else. The in-states are still definitely in it."
What other schools are on your list?
Have you had any contact with Kentucky?
"Yeah, I just talked to Joe Crawford. That’s my guy. I asked him how it is down there and he said he likes it. They run a lot. I run a lot in high school, so I like Kentucky."
When do you plan to narrow things down?
"After the summer is over. I figure that towards the end of the summer I’ll have it narrowed down to a top 5 because I’ve already eliminated some schools just based on little things. Right now I plan on taking all five visits."
Have you talked to Tubby Smith?
"No, I haven’t talked to Tubby at all."
When you narrow things down, what’s going to be important to you?
"The atmosphere. It has to be a family atmosphere. It has to be people who care about each other. At home, my AAU team is called ‘The Family’, so we’re really close. I have to have a real close bond where ever I go."
Is Arkansas an option?
"Yeah, I’ve talked to coach Talifairo a lot. Someeetimes they can’t get in touch with me, but I have a good relationship with Coach Talifairo"
Is it safe to say that you’re headed out of state?
"I can’t say that because you have to count the in-state schools because it’s easier for your family to come see you so it’s not safe to say I’ll leave the state. I’m still wide open."
Does Oregon play any role with Malik there?
"Yeah (smiling). Malik and Oregon…that’s definitely a possibility."
Any other Pac 10 schools on your list?
Do you like the attention?
"Well, I’m use to it now. At first it was like a circus, but now I’m use to it and able to understand it."
