Two Stand Out for Greco

The last week has seen the quarterback recruiting picture change significantly for Michigan. One possible target is Mike Greco from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was a Michigan camper but lists N.C. State and Auburn on top at the moment. Will Michigan be able to sway him north?

With the recent commitments of Rob Schoenhoft and Evan Sharpley to Ohio State and Notre Dame, respectively, where will Michigan turn in their search for a quarterback in the class of 2005. One possible target is Mike Greco from Cardinal Gibbon high school in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. "Right now I have about 15-20 offers," Greco said. "North Carolina State, Auburn, Rutgers, Iowa, Bowling Green, South Florida, Western Michigan, UConn (first to offer) and some others."

The 6 foot 3, 205-pound Greco has a firm top two at the moment. "N.C. St. and Auburn are on top," he said. "I love the coaching staff at N.C. State and they have a wide open offense. I like the staff at Auburn and I think I'd it in pretty good there too."

Greco has been receiving mail from Michigan and did attend the camp in Ann Arbor for one day. "It was the first time I'd been up there," he said. "The stadium is real nice, I really liked it."

He said he would like to hear more from the Wolverines but isn't focusing on them at this time. "I would certainly consider Michigan if they offered," he said. "I can't consider a school unless they offer. I've been getting mail from them, but that's about it. If they started pursuing me more I'd be real interested in them."

GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Greco's mom recently and she stated the weather may be a factor in her sons choice of schools. "No, weather doesn't bother me," Greco said. "I don't care about it." He also commented on the depth situation at Michigan. "I know they took a good quarterback last year but that's not a big deal to me," he said.

Greco is spending the remainder of his summer working out in preperation for the upcoming season. Two-a-day practices for Cardinal Gibbons begin August 9. He said he isn't thinking about when he'll make a decision.
