How did West Catholic do Saturday night?

"We played Friday night ... we beat Wildwood (N.J.) Roman Catholic, 14 to nothing. Were 5-0 now."

How's your own season going?

"I've pretty much been out the last two weeks with an ankle injury, but I'll be back next week. We play St. John Neumann this week coming up. I'll be back for THAT game -- we want to cream them!"

Do you have any stats for your first three games?

"Yeah. I've been playing offensive and defensive tackle. On defense I've had 20 tackles and 2 sacks in the three games."

In college do you still yourself playing defense?

"Yeah. That's what Michigan is recruiting me for -- defensive line."

Has Michigan been calling you?

"Oh yeah! Coach Sheridan (U-M DL coach) just called me on Friday and we talked for quite a while. And I've got an official visit scheduled to Michigan."

What visits do you have set so far?

"I've got four officials set: to Michigan, Michigan State, Miami and LSU. My coach has the dates -- but we've got a couple open weeks in November and I've got some visits set for then."

Do you know when your Michigan official visit is?

"Michigan is one of my November visits I'm pretty sure, for a home game weekend ... Northwestern I believe (that would be Nov. 12 weekend, when West Catholic does have an open date). I also have Michigan State in November I'm pretty sure. Anyway, I have official visits set to those four, and I'm still thinking about a 5th: it's between Virginia, Maryland and USC."

Do you have a leader at this point?

"Not a leader, just a top four -- the four schools I've got visits to. Michigan, Michigan State, Miami and LSU."

You say you play St. John Neumann next week. That's your former school -- you just transferred to West Catholic for this year?

"Yeah, eight of us from the St. John Neumann team transferred to West Catholic. The St. John Neumann coach left ... St. John Neumann just didn't have the organization ... not athletically or academically. It just wasn't the right place to be."

Speaking of academics, how are things going for you?

"During the summer I got my core GPA up to a 2.2 now (from 1.8 at the end of last school year). And I took the ACT and got an 18. So if I get my GPA up to a 2.5, which I can do this year, my coach told me I'll be qualified for any of the schools I'm interested in."
