Mario Manningham Comments on De-Commit Rumor

Rumors have been ciculation on rival message boards that Michigan wide reciever commitment Mario Manningham may be reconsidering his pledge to Michigan. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke Monday evening with Manningham and he gave us the straight-scoop.

Four-star standout Mario Manningham from Harding High School in Warren, Ohio committed to Michigan shortly after Signing Day 2004. He was always though of as a Michigan lock and never really considered the home-state Buckeyes. Rumors surface recently that the No.5 wide receiver in the country according to TheInsiders may be re-thinking his commitment to Michigan. Manningham was point-blank in his reaction when asked about the de-commit talk. "That is complete (nonsense)," he said. "I don't know where those things get started but there is no truth to it at all."

Harding is off to a 4-2 start this season, having dropped their last two contests, 45-12 and 37-22 to St. Edward and Ursuline, respectively. Things don't get any easier as the Raiders travel to Cleveland Friday to take on St. Ignatius. After an impresive showing against Cleveland Glenville, the 6 foot 0, 180-pound Manningham has been used sparingly. "I'd like to see the ball more," he said. "I've only had, like, eight catches in the last two games." He said he was unsure why he wasn't used more.

Manningham told GBW earlier he would be visiting Ann Arbor for the Michigan State game and would take his official visit sometime in November.
