Michigan, Hart Beat Illinois, 30-19

A poor 2nd quarter put Michigan behind 17-10 at the half, but the Wolverines turned it up on both sides of the ball in the second half to cruise by the Illini. For U-M it was <b>All Hart</b> All Game as the freshman Michael Hart ran for 235 yards, a U-M frosh record (by far) and the 6th most yards ever by a U-M tailback in a single game.<br><br> Here are The Drives, and some Key Stats.

Michigan gets the wind again. Michigan scores 8 on a long drive; Ill. throws 2 ints. and scores just 2 pts. (on an intentional U-M safety at the end of the game).

Three plays later, U-M scores a TD on a 3 yard run by Hart (his 234th and final yard on 40 carries) at the 9:00 mark. U-M gets the 2-point conversion on a pass to Avant.

Starting at the Ill. 16, Illinois gets 4 first downs to get first down on the U-M 30. But Marlon Jackson intercepts at the U-M 18 and runs it back to midfield.
