Offensive lineman and Michigan commitment Tim McAvoy told GoBlueWolverine Magazine after the game that he was going to be in attendance for Michigan - Illinois game the next day. Tuesday evening we talked to him about that game, and about when he would be making his official visit to Ann Arbor. "I'm glad Michigan won, obviously," he said. "The first half was interesting but they pulled it together and won the game. I was in the stands so I didn't get to talk to any of the players or coaches."
GBW asked McAvoy after his game if he had any misgivings regarding his Michigan commitment, since his father played Illinois. "Are you kidding?" was his reply. "My family is very happy with my decision," he later told GBW.

McAvoy is a big hockey fan and said he would like to take his official visit during hockey season and take in a Wolverine hockey game. "I'm hoping I can make it happen," he said. "Right now I'm talking to the coaches about coming up in December." Although he is now a Michigan man, McAvoy said he had no plans to change his pro hockey allegiance. "I'm from Northern Illinois and have been a Blackhawks fan all my life," he said. "There is no way I'll become a Red Wings fan."
Bloomington closes out its season against Decatur MacArthur Friday. Playoffs begin the following week.
