When we last spoke with Reggie McCoy, he made it clear that his son (Rico McCoy) was still very interested in visiting Michigan. He even mentioned the possibility of a November trip to Ann Arbor. When we caught up with Reggie last night he filled us in on where the visit plan stood at this point.
"No, we're not going to visit in November, but they've been in contact," Mr. McCoy said. "We've been communicating. Coach Campbell has called back a couple of times. As a matter of fact we just spoke last night. He said, 'it ain't over until it's over.' So we're going to try to work something out for them."
The question now is when. The date being spoken of previously was December 3rd. But, as was stated previously, Rico is scheduled for a trip to Columbus that day. I doesn't look as if that date will come back into play, but the McCoy's may reshuffle of few things in the coming weeks. "We're talking about December," McCoy said regarding a possible Michigan visit date. "We don't know exactly when yet, but we know it's not going to be the third. We don't have a hard date yet, but we're still talking. It was never anything personal it was just a matter of a breakdown in communications. We're going to come with a date for them."
On Saturday Rico will lead his St Johns Cadets in a WCAC Semifinal playoff
match-up against his former school, undefeated and the Washington Post's 3rd
ranked team, Dematha. The Cadets were 32-7 losers in the regular season game
between the two area powers.
