James McKinney from Central High School in Lousiville, Ky. has been taking unofficial visits to college games almost every weekend this season. This past Saturday he was in South Bend to watch Notre Dame take on Pittsburgh. The Irish lost a close one to the Panthers, 41-38. "I had a good time, the game was ok," McKinney said. "I'm not sure if I'll take an official visit up there or not."

This coming weekend will be yet another unofficial visit for the big man. "I'm going up to Columbus this weekend for the Michigan - Ohio State game," he said. "I'm looking forward to that, I get to watch two teams I like."

Does the 6 foot 3, 263-pound McKinney have any official visits set? "I'm supposed to go the Clemson with Brandon (Logan) at the end of this month," he said. "But if we're still in the playoffs we can't go."

Speaking of Logan, the four-star linebacker out of Lexington, Ky. Catholic and also a Michigan target, McKinney said there is a possibility the two could meet on the field soon. "It's possible we could meet in the finals," he said. "We both have two games to go and if we win both games, we'll play in the finals."

McKinney said he and Logan have talked about officially visiting Michigan together, though a date hasn't been set yet. Both visited Ann Arbor Oct. 30 for Michigan's thrilling triple overtime win over Michigan State. Lousiville and Michigan are considered the front-runners for the big man.
