"We play for the State Championship on Thursday but I'm not sure who we play yet." According to several online sources, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, West, 9-1, will play 10-1 Penn Wood on Thursday for the State title.

The 6 foot 6, 335-pound Slocum took his first official visit to Michigan State the weekend of November 12 where he saw the Spartans demolish Wisconsin 49-14. "It was a great visit and a great game," he said. "The fans were really into it, I had a real good time."

Slocum has two other visits set up at this time. "I'll be going to Michigan on Dec. 10 and Maryland on Dec. 17, I think," he said. "I talked to Coach Carr last week; we just talk about football and stuff. Right now Michigan State has the best opportunity for me. I'd say Michigan State, Michigan, and Maryland are my top three right now."

Slocum said he wasn't sure when he would make his announcement, but added that he will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Jan 15. in San Antonio, Texas. He may announce his decision at the game.

Slocum said he will play center for the West Catholic basketball team after his football season is complete.
