Dace Richardson Narrows List; U-M Next Visit

Offensive lineman Dace Richardson from -Wheaton-Warrenville South High School in Wheaton, Ill has already taken one official visit this season. He tripped to Tennessee on Oct. 22 and this weekend he will be in Ann Arbor. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Richardson Thursday and he updated his list of favorites, including one significant drop.

One week after avenging one of their two regular-season losses, Wheaton-Warrenville South's season ended with a 29-13 loss to Maine-South in the second round of the Illinois State playoffs. The previous week saw the Tigers hand Central from Naperville an early exit. Central defeated Wheaton-Warrenville South 20-17 on Oct. 22.

Wheaton-Warrenville South finished with a 10-3 record on the year. With the season over Tiger star offensive lineman Dace Richardson now has time to focus on recruiting, and that means visits. Tennessee has already hosted the 6 foot 6, 300-pound lineman and this weekend will be Michigan's turn.

The recent firings of coaches in the Division 1-A ranks has not escaped Richardson's notice, and he has already dropped one team as a result. "I was thinking of visitin Notre Dame," he said, "But now that Coach Willingham is gone I won't go there. I'm not sure if I'll take a fifth visit. If I do it will probably be to Oklahoma or Miami." Richardson will also visit Iowa on Dec. 10, and USC on Jan. 21.

Although Richardson will be in San Antonio on Jan. 15 for the Army All-American Bowl, he will not make his announcement then. "I'll decide shortly after my USC visit," he said.
