Dec 3 Weekend: Four New Additions! Plus ALL Visits

The <b>December 3rd Official Visit Weekend</b> starts today!<br><br> And the visit list has grown by four, including one <b>HUGE and TOP-RATED</b> defensive lineman!<br><br> Barring any scheduling snafus, or last second changes (and often there are both or either) this <b>IS</b> the list as of Friday morning! NINE recruits!<br><br> Also, <b>THE latest</b> on all visitors, past and present -- including a possible leader for a top CB recruit!<br>

THE Friday Morning List (unofficial of course):


- (Couldn't get ticket at last sec ... will reschedule) Offensive tackle Dace Richardson (Dec. 3 official visit, 6-8, 305 lbs., 5.2 in the 40, 2.8 GPA/18 ACT) from Wheaton, Ill., South. He attended the U-M/Iowa game. He is considering a top 3 of Tennessee (Oct. 23 offic. visit), Iowa (camp, Dec. 10 visit), USC (leader? He has family in Calif., Jan. 22 visit), with U-M (Dec. 3) sneaking up there, plus perhaps Oklahoma or Wisconsin. Richardson visited for a U-M spring practice. Richardson, Dan Doering, and David Moosman all attended the U-M/Notre Dame game. He is's #24 prospect.

- Quarterback Jason Forcier (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, '04 U-M Camper, 6-2 1/2, 205 lbs., 4.57 in the 40) from San Diego, Calif., St. Augustine. Forcier has been an ASU commitment, but he but he just received a U-M offer now and is visiting the Dec. 3rd weekend. Forcier also was a 2002 U-M camper, and attended the OSU game in '03. His dad is from Michigan and Jason grew up a U-M fan. HE finished his senior season with 2765 yards passing with 36 touchdowns and seven interceptions; a 62 percent completion rate; 1014 yards rushing with 16 touchdowns on the ground.

- Linebacker Brandon Logan (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, ‘02 & ‘03 U-M Camper, US Army Combine stats: 6-0, 189 lbs., 4.72 in the 40, 11 bench press reps., 26 inch vertical jump, 2.5 GPA/17 ACT) from Lexington, Kent., Catholic. He attended the MSU game for an unofficial visit with his parents. U-M may lead for him, with Tennessee 'tight there' as well (Nov. 26 official visit), and perhaps Kentucky. Brandon did not attend the '04 U-M Camp because of a hamstring injury, but he is a two-time Michigan Camper. He attended a 2004 Spring Practice. He and DL recruit James McKinney are cousins.

- Athlete (WR/QB) Antonio Bass (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, 6-1, 190 lbs., 4.4 in the 40, 3.0 GPA/21 ACT) from Jackson, Mich. He made an unofficial visit for the Oct. 9 Minn. game. He made a Labor Day weekend official visit to Virginia Tech, and it's very close between U-M and V-Tech. He made an official visit to LSU the Nov. 12 weekend, and will also visit MSU (Dec. 10) and make a decision soon after - unless he decides to go ahead and visit Notre Dame. He attended the late July U-M Junior Academic Day. 2004 stats: he rushed for 1,246 yards on140 carries and 15 touchdowns. He also passed for 528 yards on 25 of 75 passing with four touchdowns and four interceptions. He is's #50 prospect.

- (Commitment #2) Offensive lineman Justin Schifano (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, '03 U-M Camper, Nike stats: 6-4 1/2, 302 lbs., 5.1 in the 40, 30 bench press reps. of 185 lbs. ... 400 lb. bench press, "A" avg./qualified) from Webster, N.Y., Schroeder. He committed during his unofficial visit for the '03 Notre Dame game. He was the top OL performer at the '03 PSU Nike Camp as a soph. He is's #39 East prospect.

- NEW: (Commitment #1) Kevin Grady (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, '02 U-M Camper, 5-9, 230 lbs., 4.5 in the 40, 2.7 GPA) from East Grand Rapids, Mich. For his senior season he ran for 2,365 yards on 298 carries (7.9 yards per carry), and set state records in career scoring (924 points), career TD's (151), career rushing (8,431 yards) and consecutive 100 yard games (24). He committed Sept 8, 2003, after attending the Houston game. He was not at the 2004 U-M Camp because he was in summer school getting ahead -- he is enrolling at U-M in Jan. 2005 ... he'll attend the '05 Rose Bowl with the team. He is TheInsiders' #19 prospect.

- NEW: (Commitment #6) defensive end/outside linebacker Chris McLaurin (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, '04 U-M Camper, 6-4, 230 lbs., 4.80 {electronic} in the 40) from Orchard Lake, Mich., St. Mary's. He won a U-M camp offer and committed soon after. He'd also attended U-M for the MSU basketball game this past winter. As a junior the sleek and fast defensive end made 50 tackles and 9 1/2 sacks.

- NEW: (Commitment #7) Punter Zoltan Mesko (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, '04 U-M Camper, 6-3, 200 lbs.) from Twinsburg, Ohio.

Scheduled Official Visits: DECEMBER 10 WEEKEND

- Michigan Commitment #5: Cornerback Johnny Sears (Dec. 10 U-M official visit, USC camp stats: 6-1 1/2, 175 lbs., 4.4 in the 40 {electronic}, 34 inch vertical jump) from Fresno, Calif., Edison. Johnny is an unknown because he had to sit out his junior season after transferring. Still, the Edison DB coach, who has sent many kids to Div. 1 college programs (including Ricky Manning), highly recommends him.

- The once-and-hopefully-future commitment: DL James McKinney (Dec. 10 U-M official visit, '04 U-M Camper, US Army Combine stats: 6-1 1/2, 274 lbs., 5.10 in the 40, 14 bench press reps., 24 1/2 inch vertical jump, 2.7 GPA/17 ACT) from Louisville, Kent., Central. He made an unofficial visit to U-M for the MSU game. He has official visits to Nebraska (Nov. 26), Clemson (Dec. 3), Michigan, Oklahoma, and possibly Notre Dame ... U-M leads Louisville (doesn't need an official) with Oklahoma possibly third. McKinney was a full week U-M camper, and worked out at both tight end and defensive lineman. He is's #75 prospect, and has been chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game. SR (10-2) stats: 70 tackles/10 sacks/3 blocked FG/4 batted passes/7 FC.

- Defensive/offensive tackle Marques Slocum (Dec. 10 U-M official visit, PSU Nike stats: 6-6, 330 lbs., 5.09 in the 40 ... 300 lb. bench press) from Philadelphia West Catholic. As of Oct. 1st. he has official visits scheduled to MSU (Nov. 12, with teammate Derrell Hand ... leader?), U-M (Dec. 10), the two leaders with Maryland (Dec. 17) ... and possibly LSU (Jan.) or Virginia. He made a summer unofficial visit to U-M on Monday, July 26. Slocum grew up a U-M fan and U-M has offered him. He is's #70 prospect.

- Offensive tackle Cory Zirbel (Dec. U-M 10 official visit, '04 U-M Camper, 6-6, 290 lbs., 5.18 {electronic} in the 40, 3.1 GPA/ 19 ACT) from Murray, Kent. He made an unofficial visit to U-M for the Iowa game. He was offered at the U-M Camp. U-M, Miami (camp, Dec. 3 official visit) and Oklahoma (Oct. 2 official visit) may be his final three, with U-M perhaps at the top. He also made an official to Virginia Tech (Nov. 26). He is's' #51 South prospect.

- Offensive lineman David Moosman (Dec. 10 official visit, '04 U-M Camper, 6-3, 260 lbs., 5.3 in the 40, 360 lb. bench press, 2.9 GPA/26 ACT) from Libertyville, Ill. Moosman attended the U-M/MSU game for an unofficial visit. David, Dan Doering and Dace Richardson all attended the U-M/Notre Dame game. Wisconsin (camp, Dec. 3 official visit) and Michigan (Dec. 10; camp) both lead slightly over Iowa (Dec. 17; camp), Notre Dame (Jan. 15; camp) and UCLA (possible late Jan.; he has family in LA). He'll make a late decision. He is's #17 Midwest prospect.

- Commitment #11: Tight end/defensive end Carson Butler (Dec. 10 official visit, 6-5, 235 lbs., 4.6 in the 40, 2.9 GPA) from Detroit Renaissance. He made a U-M unofficial visit for the Minn. game, and for the Miami game. Butler had to sit out his junior year after transferring from Lansing Waverly. He did play hoops on the Renaisssance team last winter. U-M offered him after seeing film of his first couple games ... and he committed at the Minn. game.

- Commitment #3: Mario Manningham (Dec. 10 official visit, 6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) from Warren, Ohio, Harding. Mario is growing and developing physically ... he's an inch taller at 6-0 now, and he's also noticeably stronger. He reportedly ran the camp's second fastest 40 time. Manningham made an unofficial visit to Michigan for the '03 Indiana game, and committed to the Wolverines the day after Signing Day. He is's #84 prospect.

- Cornerback Avery Atkins (Dec. 10 official visit, 6-2, 190 lbs. 4.39 in the 40 {'03 FSU Camp}, 285 lb. bench press, 35 inch vertical) from Daytona Beach, Calif., Mainland. He is's #37 prospect. His top schools before committing to Florida in May were the instate schools and Michigan. And Michigan's top 3 CB recruits early-on were considered to be Justin King, Atkins, and Victor Harris.

- Quarterback Jonathan Garner (Dec. 10 official visit, Miami Nike Stats: 6-4, 206 lbs., 4.98 in the 40, 4.56 sec. shuttle, 25.5 inch vertical jump) from Daytona Beach, Calif., Mainland. Going into the state semi-finals, Garner has completed over 50% of his passes, for 1880 yards, 18 passing touchdowns, 6 rushing touchdowns, with 4 interceptions ... on a running team. He was an Elite 11 Quarterback this past summer.

Not visiting -- visit postponed: Cornerback Derek Pegues (Dec. 10 official visit, 5-11, 190 lbs., 4.4 in the 40, 2.8 GPA/18 ACT) from Batesville, Miss., South Panola. U-M was his first scheduled official visit since his state championship game is Dec. 3, but now he is visiting Tennessee Dec. 10. Pegues made a one-day U-M visit the day before the U-M Summer camp. He lists a top five of LSU (leader?), Tennessee (Dec. 10 visit)), Michigan, Ole Miss and Alabama. He is's #79 South prospect.

The Oct. 29 MSU Game: Official Visitors

- NEW: Cornerback/running back Victor Harris (Oct. 29 MSU game official visit, 6-0, 185 lbs., 4.45 in the 40, 2.8 GPA) from Highland Springs, Vir. grew up a U-M (and Miami) fan. As of early Dec. U-M may trail Virginia Tech (recent unofficial visit). He had a Halloween bye week, and made an official visit to U-M for the Oct. 30 MSU game. He has a final five now, with official visits: USC (Oct. 16), Michigan (Oct. 29), Virginia (Dec. 3) and Virginia Tech (Dec. 10), Miami (Dec. 17.). He is TheInsiders' #25 prospect.

- Safety Nic Harris (Oct. 29 MSU game official visit, LSU Nike stats: 6-2 1/2, 209 lbs., 35 inch vertial jump, 4.2 sec. shuttle, 12 bench press reps., 22 ACT) from Alexandria, Louisiana. He made an official visit Oct. 29 for the MSU game. U-M is in his top two or three with LSU (camp, Dec. 3 official visit), A&M (camp, Sept. 17 official visit, Nov. 13 unofficial visit for Oklahoma game); he also has official visits to Nebraska (Dec. 10) and Oklahoma (Sept. 10).

- Committed to Michigan at the visit: Defensive tackle Terrance Taylor (Sept. 25 Iowa game offic. visit, '03 U-M Camper, 6-0, 285 lbs., 4.9 in the 40, 2.8 GPA/18 ACT) from Muskegon, Mich. He committed at the visit.

- Cornerback Justin King (Sept. 25 Iowa game offic. visit, '04 U-M Camp Visitor, 5-11, 182 lbs., 2003 PSU Nike stats: 4.29 in the 40, 3.72 sec. shuttle {best of camp}, 37.1 inch vertical jump {best of camp}, 11 bench press reps., 3.0 GPA/900 SAT) from Monroeville, Pa., Gateway.

- Cornerback Chris Richards (Sept. 25 Iowa game offic. visit, 05/06 commitment, '04 U-M camper, Nike Stats: 5-11 1/2, 170 lbs., 4.45 in the 40, 4.0 sec. shuttle, 36 inch vertical jump) from Monroe, Calif. Richards made his visit with his father/head coach, also named Chris, who played DB at Cal with U-M defensive backs coach Ron English.
