- LinebackerBrandon Logan (Dec. 3 U-M official visit, ‘02 & ‘03 U-M Camper, US Army Combine stats: 6-0, 189 lbs., 4.72 in the 40, 11 bench press reps., 26 inch vertical jump, 2.5 GPA/17 ACT) from Lexington, Kent., Catholic.
What's Next: Visits done, decision soon. His visits are finished: Tenn (Nov. 26), U-M (Dec. 3), Kent (Dec. 10). A decision should come by Christmas.
Logan made his official U-M visit with his dad. He'd also attended the MSU football game for an unofficial visit with his parents. U-M may lead for him, with Tennessee 'tight there' as well (Nov. 26 official visit), and after his Kentucky (Dec. 10) visit he may. Brandon did not attend the '04 U-M Camp because of a hamstring injury, but he is a two-time Michigan Camper. He attended a 2004 Spring Practice. He and DL recruit James McKinney are cousins.

- Linebacker Rico McCoy ('03 U-M Camper, 6-1, 215 lbs., 4.55 in the 40, 2. GPA) from Washington D.C. St. John's College.
What's Next: 3 done, 2 to go. Three visits done: Pitt (Nov. 26), OSU (Dec. 3), and Tenn (Dec. 10). Two visits to go: Miami (Dec. 17), and quite possibly U-M in January.
U-M was in his home in early Dec. and he will probably make a Jan. visit. He was expected to make a Dec. 3 U-M official visit, but scheduled OSU instead. He has official visits to Pittsburgh (Nov. 26), OSU (Dec. 3), and Tennessee (Dec. 10), plus he will visit Miami (Dec. 17) ... also in the mix is Syracuse (where his brother Reggie a freshman defensive back) and North Carolina. As a junior he made 120 tackles and five sacks. He is TheInsiders' #76 prospect, and has been named to the US Army All American team.

- Commitment #6: defensive end/outside linebacker Chris McLaurin ('04 U-M Camper, 6-4, 230 lbs., 4.80 {electronic} in the 40) from Orchard Lake, Mich., St. Mary's. He won a U-M camp offer and committed soon after. He'd also attended U-M for the MSU basketball game this past winter. As a junior the sleek and fast defensive end made 50 tackles and 9 1/2 sacks.

- Michigan Commitment #5: Cornerback Johnny Sears (Dec. 10 official visit, USC camp stats: 6-1 1/2, 175 lbs., 4.4 in the 40 {electronic}, 34 inch vertical jump) from Fresno, Calif., Edison. Johnny is an unknown because he had to sit out his junior season after transferring. Still, the Edison DB coach, who has sent many kids to Div. 1 college programs (including Ricky Manning), highly recommends him.

- NEW - Cornerback/running back Victor Harris (Oct. 29 MSU game official visit, 6-0, 185 lbs., 4.45 in the 40, 2.8 GPA) from Highland Springs, Vir.
What's Next: Maybe done, maybe 1 more visit. Completed visits: USC (Oct. 16), U-M (Oct. 29), Vir (Dec. 3) and V-Tech (Dec. 10 -- did NOT take). Since he did NOT take his Dec. 10 Virginia Tech visit, the questino now is: is he done with his visits? Will he announce this week? Or will he take other visits -- to Miami or V-Tech?.
Victor grew up a U-M (and Miami) fan. As of mid-Dec. U-M and Virginia Tech may lead. He had a Halloween bye week, and made an official visit for the Oct. 30 MSU game. He has a final five now, with official visits: USC (Oct. 16), Michigan (Oct. 29), Virginia (Dec. 3) and Virginia Tech (Dec. 10), Miami (Dec. 17.). He is TheInsiders' #25 prospect.

- NEW - Cornerback Brandon Harrison (Dec. 10 official visit, OSU Nike stats: 5-8 1/2, 190 lbs., 4.25 in the 40, 4.28 sec. shuttle, 37.3 inch vertical jump, 18 bench press reps. ... 10.6 100 meters, 315 lb. bench press, 3.0 GPA/17 ACT) from Dayton, Ohio Chaminade-Julienne.
What's Next: Visits done, decision Tues., Dec. 15. His visits are finished: Iowa (Dec. 3) and U-M (Dec. 10). GBW thinks U-M may well lead here.
Michigan was an early favorite of Brandon and his dad's (they attended the Junior Day last Jan.), but when Notre Dame offered early and U-M didn't, Harrison picked the Irish. ND is now OUT for him, and it's down to Iowa (Dec. 3 visit) and U-M (Dec. 10). We assume Brandon will get his firm U-M offer at the visit, and that U-M may well make a push for him.

- Cornerback/Ath. Derek Pegues (Dec. 10 official visit - postponed, 5-11, 190 lbs., 4.4 in the 40, 2.8 GPA/18 ACT) from Batesville, Miss., South Panola.
What's Next: Probable Jan. visits. He's only been to Tenn (Dec. 10 visit), and plans to visit LSU (Jan. 21), U-M (late Jan.?), and perhaps Miss. State and and Ala.
His Dec. 10 tentative visit to U-M was postponed for Tennessee (he played in the state championship game on Dec. 3 when his Tenn. visit had been planned) -- this may look bad, but FEAR NOT: if he does NOT commit to Tennessee at the visit, then U-M is still in a good position with a Jan. visit - perhaps LATE Jan. Pegues made a one-day visit the day before the U-M Summer camp. As of mid-Dec he lists a top list of Tennessee (Dec. 10 visit), Michigan (late Jan.?), LSU (Jan. 21), perhaps followed by Miss. State and and Alabama. He is TheInsiders #79 South prospect.

- Cornerback Avery Atkins (Dec. 10 official visit CANCELLED, 6-2, 190 lbs. 4.39 in the 40 {'03 FSU Camp}, 285 lb. bench press, 35 inch vertical) from Daytona Beach, Calif., Mainland.
What's Next: U-M visit cancelled; he's likely to stay at Fla..

- A greyshirt camp commitment for the 05/06 recruiting class: Cornerback Chris Richards (Sept. 25 Iowa game offic. visit, 05/06 commitment, '04 U-M camper, Nike Stats: 5-11 1/2, 170 lbs., 4.45 in the 40, 4.0 sec. shuttle, 36 inch vertical jump) from Monroe, Calif. He made his U-M official visit with Justin King, and afterward told us that King told him he was '75% sure' he'd pick U-M. Richards is a greyshirt commitment for the 05/06 recruiting class and will enter U-M in Jan. '06.

- Safety Nick Harris (Oct. 29 MSU game official visit, LSU Nike stats: 6-2 1/2, 209 lbs., 35 inch vertial jump, 4.2 sec. shuttle, 12 bench press reps., 22 ACT) from Alexandria, Louisiana.
What's Next: Visits done, decision by Christmas. His visits: Oklahoma (Sept. 10), Texas A&M (Sept. 17), U-M (Oct. 29), LSU (Dec. 3), Neb (Dec. 10).
He made an official visit Oct. 29 for the MSU game. U-M is in his top two or three with LSU (camp, Dec. 3 official visit), A&M (camp, Sept. 17 official visit, Nov. 13 unofficial visit for Oklahoma game); he also has official visits to Nebraska (Dec. 10) and Oklahoma (Sept. 10). He will announce his decision by Christmas.
