Dc 12. OL Cory Zirbel Tells GBW: He's a Wolverine!

With the big recruiting weekend now complete, except for one visitor who remains until Monday, Michigan will be adding at least two players to the commitment list for the recruiting class of 2005:

Offensive Linemen Cory Zirbel, AND, Zirbel tells GBW, Mark Ortmann!

GoBlueWolverine brings you the latest.

GoBlueWolverine Magazine just got off the phone with offensive lineman Cory Zirbel from Murray, Ky. High School. Zirbel has stated often that he might commit the Michigan during his visit. This weekend he made good on the pledge. "I had a great time on the visit and I committed," he said. "Michigan just felt right, it wasn't Michigan the whole time, but it is the best place for me. I'm glad to get it over with."

MArk Ortmann

Zirbel said a fellow big man was going to join him. "Mark Ortmann from Texas was there too and he committed," Zirbel said. "He's another lineman and we spent most of the weekend together. I met him back in camp"
(Note: GoBlueWolverine has confirmed this commitment with the Ortmann household ... more to come).

Zirbel said the group attended the basketball game on Friday and the hockey game on Saturday. "The hockey game was awesome," he said. "I talked to the coaches and they said I could play tackle or guard, it really doesn't matter to me. I'd also take a red-shirt year and be ready to play my red-shirt sophomore year."

Zirbel chose Michigan over Oklahoma, Miami, and Kentucky. Is this it for the big man? "I'm committed but I may take a visit to Kentucky."

GBW will have more on Zirbel and Ortmann, as well as coverage of all this weekend's visitors, throghout the day, stay tuned!
