Are those last pages turning Blue-colored?
Lexington Kentucky linebacker Brandon Logan is no stranger to Ann Arbor.

A year ago Michigan was recruiting Brandon's older brother, wide-receiver John, who came up to the 2001 and 2002 Michigan Summer Camps. John surprised everyone last year by signing with the home team, Kentucky -- but there always was word floating around that, "There is a younger Logan brother, a linebacker, who tags along -- and he is even better than John." And when John begged out of the 2003 U-M Camp, there in attendance was the younger brother -- Brandon. At the US Army Combine last January, the Logan's Michigan-fan-father came up to the GBW Guys and said he was as surprised as anyone that John didn't pick Michigan -- but that Brandon was a different story ...

As soon as last year's Signing Day was over, in Feb. 2004, Michigan offered Brandon a scholarship to play football for the Wolverines. And Logan in turn said he had Michigan on top -- but that he wanted to look around and see what came up from other schools. Home school Kentucky had already offered, and eventually his list would add Florida, Tennessee, Louisville, and Clemson, a small but impressive pack of offers.

Florida was the early challenge to Michigan for Logan's services, but the Gators dropped after the firing of head coach Ron Zook. An unofficial visit to Tennessee in October pulled the Volunteers up to even with Michigan, and Logan scheduled an official to Knoxville.

The speedy 6 foot 1, 210-pound Logan visited Tennessee on Nov. 26, then tripped to Michigan on Dec. 3, and then he also went to Kentucky last weekend. He has decided that three visits was enough and he will now decide between the three schools.

And, one school still stands out. "The visit to Kentucky was nice," Logan said. "All the visits were nice, but I'm still leaning to Michigan."

Later he went a little further. "It will probably be Michigan," he said; "and it will be sometime this week."

Logan added, "I won't have any kind of big announcement, I'll just call the coaches and let them know."

GBW will bring you the official word when Logan notifies the Michigan coaches.

Who will Logan remind Michigan fans of (as far as type of player)? One of the late 90's tandem of Ian Gold/Dhani Jones. We'd say: Dhani.

One more thing: as far as that jumbo athlete cousin of his ...

Logan is the cousin of another Michigan target, athlete James McKinney from Louisville Central High School. McKinney recently returned from his official visit to Michigan and told GBW the trip was, "mediocre". Logan said he spoke with McKinney and did not know if his cousin would be joining him in Ann Arbor -- but Logan said, "James and I talked about his visit and James told me it was a good time," Logan said. "But I have no idea what he's going to do."
