Libertyville, Ill. offensive lineman David Moosman was supposed to visit Iowa this coming weekend, but the Hawkeyes called him and cancelled the visit. David was philosophical about the cancellation. "Well, whatever, that's the way it goes."
Well then, what's next?
"I was thinking about taking another visit, maybe to Florida, but I'm not going to."
"I'm going to make my commitment next week, hopefully early in week."
Okay, so what schools is it down to -- and who leads?
"I'm having a hard time chosing between Michigan and Wisconsin. I like both of the coaching staffs a lot."
"And I like the strength and conditioning programs at both schools."
"I go back and forth: one day it's Michigan, the next day it's Wisconsin."
"But I want to get it done early next week."
Will you announce your decision at a press conference?
"Nah, I'm not having a press conference or anything. I'm not knocking anyone who does, but I don't have any friends who would be interested! (laughing)
"I'll just call the coaches and let them know."
"And I want to get it done as soom as possible, hopefully Monday."
A couple other interesting tidbits from Moosman:
"I was at a Chicago area sports banquet last night. Coach Moeller was there -- we just said hi because of the recruiting rules."
"I'm having surgery January 3rd on my shoulder. I injured the shoulder last year, and then reinjured it in the state semi-finals this year. It's not that serious, but it's a six month recovery period, five months until I'll be lifting weights again."
Moosman's pertinent stats: Dec. 10 Michigan official visit, '04 U-M Camper, 6-3, 260 lbs., 5.3 in the 40, 360 lb. bench press, 2.9 GPA/26 ACT.
