Top USA Today Juniors Like Michigan

Four of the ten top juniors listed in today's USA Today All American articles have expressed strong interest in Michigan.

GoBlueWolverine has already scouted/covered these four top prospects! Here are our scouting reports and interviews on them.
1. Running Back DeMarco Murray ('04 Stanford Nike stats: 6-0, 185 lbs., 4.49 in the 40, 4.56 sec. shuttle,. 32.1 inch vertical jump, 8 bench press reps.) from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman.

2. DB Myron Rolle (one day '04 U-M Camper; PSU Nike stats: 6-1 1/2, 204 lbs., 4.53 in the 40,4.25 sec. shuttle, 34.5 inch vertical jump, 18 bench press reps. ... 4.0 GPA) from Galloway, N.J., The Hun School.
GBW kept their coments about Rolle to a minimum so far, just lieting him as an attendee at last summer's Michigan Camp. Rolle got a lot of attention at the U-M Camp in his one day there, including receiving a scholarship offer. U-M was also in his school this past fall, during U-M's bye week. Rolle was considered the top defensive back overall at last spring's 2004 PSU Nike Camp. He's a pure safety who reminds us of Ryan Mundy (altho Rolle is not as fast). The top student wants a pre-med major.

3/4. The Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt kids:

- The consensus top running back at last spring's PSU Nike was: RB LeSean McCoy ('04 PSU Nike stats: 5-10, 195 lbs., 4.25 in the 40, 4.10 sec. shuttle, 30.3 inch vertical, 14 bench press reps.) from Harrisburg, Penn., Bishop McDevitt.

GBW's Sam Webb interviewed McCoy after the combine; here is the interview once again (go down to midway through the article): click here.

- McCoy's teammate at Bishop McDevitt is OL/DL Jason Kates ('04 PSU Nike stats: 6-2 324 lbs., 5.28 in the 40, 5.50 sec. shuttle, 20.1 inch vertical jump, 11 bench press reps) from Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt. In early November GBW's Penn. correspondent Gene Hankerson wrote about him: "Kates, is rumored to have 10 offers already. I spoke (this was late Sept.) with Kates and his mother in an interview, and he flat out told me he wants to go to Michigan and be a Wolverine. When I gave him the chance to name some of his other top schools, all he wanted to talk about was Michigan. He later named five schools, but it was hard getting it out of him."

For good measure #2: While looking for this material, we came across our Brandon Logan and James McKinney scouting reports at last January's US Army Combine (go down to midway through the article): click here.
