"I'm going to take one more visit after the U.S. Army Game -- it's going to be to Oklahoma."
So said Louisville Jumbo Athlete James McKinney to GoBlueWolverine today.
McKinney said the visit would be for the Jan. 20 weekend, and that he would announce his decision soon after the visit.
McKinney's visits so far have been to have been to: Nebraska (Nov. 26), Clemson (Dec. 3), Michigan (Dec. 10), and Louisville (Dec. 17 ... left early).
As far as a leader: "Michigan is in front right now but we'll see what Oklahoma has to offer."
The Louisville, Kent., Central jumbo athlete was a U-M visitor to the Nov. '03 OSU game (after which he committed to the Wolverines for a brief time), and he was a full-week camper for the '04 Michigan Camp. He worked out both at tight end and defensive lineman at the U-M Camp.
His stats at the Jan. '04 U.S. Army Combine were: 6-1 1/2, 274 lbs., 5.10 in the 40, 14 bench press reps., 24 1/2 inch vertical jump.
McKinney's senior stats: 70 tackles/10 sacks/3 blocked FG/4 batted passes/7 FC. He is Scout.com's #83 prospect and #9 tight end, and has been chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game.
The main competition for Michigan for McKinney was considered to be Louisville; then, after he and Louisville parted ways, Nebraska. Now ... it just could be Oklahoma.
