Eugene Germany to Take Visits?

Will the recent commitment of four-star defensive tackle Marques Slocum affect the decision of defensive lineman Eugene Germany? What seemed a certainty just a week ago, may not be now. Germany spoke Wednesday with GoBlueWolverine Magazine and gave an update in his recruiting situation.
Some kids grow tired of the recruiting process and are relieved when it is over come Signing Day; not defensive end Eugene Germany from Pomona, Calif. "You know I like it," he said. "It's fun, I get to meet new people and see other places."

One place Germany is looking to see this weekend is Manhatten, Kansas. Germany said he is looking in to visiting Kansas State University. "My coach (John Brown) is talking with them and I'm pretty sure I'll be going this weekend," he said. "I think they're trying to figure out who pays for it since I took all my visits last year. I don't know if I can take any more."

KSU won't be the last place the 6-foot-4, 270-pound Germany checks out. "I also want to visit San Diego State," he said. "That's only a two-hour drive, so we can do that no matter what. The last time I was in San Diego was when my family went to Sea World, I wasn't even thinking about football then."

Germany said that he still hasn't spoken with any coaches. There has been discussion regarding whether the school he signed with last year, USC, needs to give him a release in order for him to attend another school. "I want to avoid getting into any trouble later," he said. "I think (USC) has given me my release, but since my coach is handling all the talks with the coaches I'm not sure."

Germany said that his parents are allowing him to make his choice this time. "I just want to look around to make sure I make the right decision," he said.
