6-foot-5, 218-pound quarterback Josh Freeman was considered one of the top signal callers at the recent U.S. Army All-American Combine in San Antonio, Texas. The tall, well-built Freeman impressed onlookers both with his arm and his footwork. As a junior, he threw for 2,400 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 67 percent completion rate and only six interceptions; he also had three rushing touchdowns, and one receiving.

Freeman told GoBlueWolverine Magazine Monday evening that he has four offers so far. "Kansas was the first to offer," he said. "Then Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa. Those are the only offers I have so far. Nebraska is on top right now, I like the coaches and the program." He said Michigan, Missouri, Miami and Kansas round out his top five.

Freeman said he had a visitor at his school on Monday, who watched him at basketball practice. "Coach (Andy) Moeller was at my school today," he said. "He sat and talked to my dad (the tight-ends coach at Grandview) and told him they are really looking at offering me, but so far they haven't."

There was another Michigan school in town Monday. "Michigan State stopped by too," Freeman said. "They talked about offering too, but haven't yet."

The big man told recently that he plans on making a summer decision. "I am graduating in December so I am going to be a mid-year transfer," He said. "I will take some trips this summer, go to some camps, and then decide where I am going."

One of those camp trips will be to three schools in the Midwest. "Some coaches were telling me that Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame all have one-day camps," Freeman said. "I'll probably visit all three camps there, and go to camps at Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa. I may also go to the Nike Camp at Miami."
