GoBlueWolverine has just confirmed with the family that Michigan has offered a scholarship to, and taken a commitment from, FB/DE Andre Criswell (6-1, 250 lbs.) from Detroit Renaissance, early-commit Carson Butler's school.

The teammate of commit Carson Butler is a member of the Detroit Free Press' All Detroit team: Click here to read Criswell's Freep blurb. He is also the Det. News' #28 instate prospect: Click here for his blurb.

As a senior DE/LB Criswell, who has been listed at 6-3 but who we are told is a shade under 6-2, made 71 tackles, nine tackles for loss and seven sacks; he also has a 2.9 GPA. We understand U-M recruited him as a fullback/linebacker.

GoBlueWolverine will have an interview with Andre Criswell up shortly!

We reiterate: there are ALWAYS surprises like this close to Signing Day, and we have reported to you that Michigan's scholarship-available situation is 'fluid' this year. Read the "19 Commitments: Will U-M Go To 24" article ... which includes another new twist on the Eugene Germany story.
