Nic Harris to be an Oklahoma Sooner

In a surprise to fans who have been closely following the situation, safety <b>Nic Harris</b> of Alexandria, La., High School will choose to play football for the Okalahoma Sooners. <br><br> GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Harris about his commitment, and when he knew it would be Oklahoma. <br>

Bringing back the ghost of Travis Johnson, safety Nic Harris of Alexandria, La., High School changed his mind last night and decided to commit to Okalahoma. He said he will his announce his decision at his school during a press conference today. "I will attend the University of Oklahoma," he said.

Harris spoke withe GoBlueWolverine Magazine about the decision. "When I first announced that I had made up my mind, it was Michigan," he said. "It was Michigan right up until last night, but some circumstances came up that made me want to stay closer to home, so I went with Okalahoma." Harris wouldn't elaborate on those circumstances. He said he notified the staffs of both schools last night and confirmed with the Michigan staff this morning.

Harris said playing time wasn't a factor, and there were opportunities at both schools. "Both coaching staffs were good to me and this experience has been nothing but positive," he said. "If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing."

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Harris was recently released from the hospital after a bout with pneumonia.
