Coach Carr on Injuries, Non-returnees

From this afternoon's <b>Signing Day Press Conference</b>. <br><br>The injury list for the spring is long.

Coach Carr's report on: LB Lawrence Reid - played with discomfort the 2nd half of the season with a nerve injury (neck?) .. the doctors have advised him to end his career ... he will finish school.

LB Joey Sarantos - he's not coming back for his 5th year.

OL Leo Henige - he's cleared for limited contact in the spring.

OLB Pierre Woods - he IS returning and practicing this spring.

OL Jake Long - he has been out 4 weeks with a shoulder; his status for spring ball is undetermined.

OL Adam Kraus - he will miss spring ball with a shoulder injury.

DE Jeremy VanAlstyne - he is not cleared for spring ball.

OLB Tim Jamison - he will have no contact in spring ball (knee).

OL Pat Sharrow - he has been out 15 weeks with a foot injury; he'll have no activity in spring ball.

QB Matt Gutierrez - he is not cleared to throw in the spring; he's cleared for drills.

FB Roger Allison - he impressed during the first half of the fall but has a shoulder injury ... they'll have to see how he responds.

As far as the possibility of LB Jim Pressley returning to the team: Carr had no comment, said he hasn't talked to Pressley but that he would in the next couple weeks.

WR Jason Avant - he will be fine for the spring.
