James Aldridge Profile

James Aldridge began creating a buzz as a sophmore at Hazelwood Central in the St. Louis area, and after transferring to Merrillville, Indiana, it did not take long for others to take notice.

"James is a tremendous prospect," said head coach Jeff Yelton. "We feel he is probably a better linebacker, or at least that is where he plays best for us, but he is also a great running back. He has legitimate speed at 6'1 and 215 pounds having ran a 21.0 in the 200 meter dash."

Aldridge received an offer from the Missouri Tigers as a sophmore, and expect many more to come his way soon. He has received strong interest from Oklahoma, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas, and Kansas State among others. He previously has taken unofficial visits to Iowa, Purdue, and Ohio State.

As a junior, rushed for 2,067 yards and 20 touchdowns on 281 carries. He also caught 11 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns, and even completed one pass for 36 yards.

(GoBlueWolverine note: Aldridge reportedly grew up a U-M fan. He suffered an ACL injury in his final game last year. He did not attend last Sunday's U-M Junior Day, but U-M will be getting visits from him in the future. Stay tuned for more.
