Michigan Hockey Receives No. 2 Seed in Midwest

On Sunday, a day after their 4-2 victory over Ohio State to capture the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament Championship, the University of Michigan hockey team received the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region for the NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, and will face No. 3 seed Wisconsin on Friday, March 25 in Grand Rapids, Mich. <br>

After winning the CCHA regular season and tournament championships, the nations No. 4 ranked Michigan Wolverines gained the No. 2 seed in the Midwest region and will face off against No. 3 seed Wisconsin on Friday, March 25 at 8:30 p.m. at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

In their only regular season meeting, the Badgers defeated Michigan 3-1 in Madison, Wis.

Boston College, Minnesota, Colorado College, and defending National Champion Denver received No. 1 seedings.

The Wolverines will be looking to win their NCAA-record 10th National Championship. Michigan last won the title in 1998.

The Frozen Four will be played at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, with the semi-finals on April 7. The Championship game will be played on April 10 at 7:00 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN.
