Top Michigan Nike Underclassmen

There were at least two top instate underclassmen performers at last Saturday's Michigan Nike Camp -- kids who will be top ten instate recruits next year. And several younger siblings of current Wolverines were in attendance as well.

- Defensive Back Ronald Johnson from Muskegon, Mich. (Terrance Taylor's school), measured 5-11 1/2, 180 lbs., ran a 4.68 in the 40 and an excellent 4.0 sec. shuttle. He is one of Michigan's top ten juniors-to-be. (Note: keep in mind that the 40 times are electronic this year which slows times down considerably: there were only 5 sub-4.5 times at the U-M Nike, and only another 12 sub-4.6's)

- Quarterback Justin Siller from Detroit Deporres. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound QB is one of Michigan's top ten juniors-to-be, and is an athletic QB in the Diollo Johnson/Jermaine Gonzalez mold. With the Catholic Church closing Deporres (it may become a charter school), Siller may transfer to Orchard Lake St. Mary's (home of the top instate Junior-to-be, Ath. Dionte Allen, who was not in attendance at the combine).

- Ath. Taurian Washingon (6-0, 170 lbs.), and DB Blair Hollis (5-8, 160 lbs.) from Detroit DePorres also performed well.

- Quarterback/kicker Audie Cole from Monroe, Mich.

Some younger junior-to-be brothers of current Wolverines were there as well:

- Ath. Kelvin Grady (5-11, 170 lbs.), younger brother of Kevin Grady.

- LM Josh Allison (6-2, 250 lbs.), younger brother of Roger Allison.

- RB Chris Hart, younger brother of Mike Hart.

- (Senior to be) Sidney Stewart (6-0, 175 lbs.), younger brother of Charles Stewart.
