Late May Updated QB Best Guess List

GoBlueWolverine has been all around the country to scout every one of Michigan's top quarterback recruits (as well as their top underclass targets for that matter). So it's time to present an updated, more accurate Quarterback Best Guess U-M Recruiting Class List. **NEW NAME ADDED**

Note: rankings are Jim S' spring rankings (which will be updated soon)

The need: one, hopefully a top one.

1 Tim Tebow QB 6'2 1/2 225 4.61 Jacksonville Nease Florida. Tebow has solidified his position as the top-ranked quarterback in the country, doing an astounding 38 bench press reps of 185 lbs. at the Tallahassee Nike Combine (even though his throwing motion was rusty due to playing baseball). Coach Carr visited his school on May 9. As a junior Tebow passed for 4,286 yards and 46 TDs while throwing only six interceptions. He added another 1,266 yards for 24 touchdowns on the ground, accounting for a total of 70 touchdowns as a junior. He may (or may not) list a top four of Florida, Michigan, Alabama and USC. He is Michigan's top target at the position. He is also a top basebll prospect.

*NEW INFO* 5 Mitch Mustain QB 6'2 200 4.72 Springdale Arkansas. Mustain completed 139 of his 222 attempts (62.6 per- cent) for 2,000+ yards and tossed 20 touchdown passes to just 7 interceptions as a junior, before breaking the forearm of his throwing arm in his last game. at the Old Miss Nike Camp he told us the arm didn't bother him (his performance proved it -- he has a great, natural throwing motion) even though it has a couple pins in it, and a long, nasty scar. Texas and Michigan are in it for him, as are Arkansas, Oklahoma and others. Coach Loeffler has been in his school this spring, and Coach Carr will also make a visit. He visited U-M for a spring practice, and told us he will likely return for a summer visit ... he will also camp at Texas on June 5 (*watch this visit*). He plans to set a top 5 in June and make a summer decision.

Also keep an eye on:

*NEW* - Sam Bradford QB 6'4 200 Oklahoma City Putnam City North Oklahoma. The underrated Bradford could be U-M's top choice if Tebow and Mustain fall through. He has offers from Texas A&M, Iowa State and most recently, Oklahoma … a U-M offer could come at some point as well.

28 Adam Weber QB 6'2 205 4.88 Shoreview Mounds View Minnesota. Adam has an early offer from Minnesota, his leader. Very strong-armed, he thows in the upper 80's as a pitcher in baseball. As a junior he completed 71 of 135 passes (52.6%) for 1241 yards, 12 TDs and only 2 interceptions. He attended the U-M Elite 11 Tryout and Nike Camp and was the top performer. He has a Minnesota offer.

- Isiah Williams QB 6-2 210 4.5 Chicago Vocational Illinois. The underrated-for-now athletic QB/Ath.. attended the U-M Elite 11 Tryout and Nike Camp and was one of the top 3 performers, with Adam Weber and Brian Hartline. He has offers from Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa State. After the U-M Nike he told GBW, "U-M has just started to recruit me with the hand written letters and stuff like that. I guess when I learn more about the school they'll be at the top of my list because I grew up watching Michigan all of the time."

3 Neil Caudle QB 6'2 192 4.70 Hoover Spain Park Alabama. As a junior he completed 129-of-200 passes (65%) for 1,624 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also rushed for 424 yards and four touchdowns on 43 carries in a little more than eight games, suffering an ACL in his 9th game. Caudle has early offers from Michigan, LSU, Louisville, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia Tech and Georgia. At the Georgia Nike Camp he told GBW he'll camp at Michigan (and LSU and Louisville), but he grew up an Auburn fan and will be tough for the Wolverines to get him away from the Tigers.
