Spring Practice Road Trip: Safety Jonas Mouton

The 2005 GoBlueWolverine.com Spring Practice Road Trip stopped by Venice, Calif., High School to catch up with safety Jonas Mouton. With offers pouring in for the talented West Coast star, he is in no rush to make a decision. However, he does know of two schools he would like to officially visit when the time comes. Is Michigan one of them?

The GoBlueWolverine.com Spring Practice Road Trip visited Venice High School to watch star safety Jonas Mouton. However, the Gondoliers have no field on which to practice. "The football field is being replaced, and the baseball coach won't let us practice on his field," Venice Head Coach Angelo Gasca said. "So we're just running and lifting weights."

With offers from most of the Pac 10, and eastern powers such as Michigan and Nebraska, Mouton said he hasn't narrowed down his list of schools. "I'm just enjoying things and not really focusing on recruiting right now," Mouton said. "A lot of coaches came by during May, and that was cool. I'll probably narrow things down around the time my season starts. I do know I want to visit Michigan and Nebraska for two of my official visits."

Mouton is friends with Michigan wide receiver Keston Cheathem. "I talk to him once in a while, and he is always telling me how great it is at Michigan," Mouton said.

He said he would like to make is decision after he takes all of his visits, most likely at the end of his season.
