Taylor Mays: Look for August Decision

Defensive back Taylor Mays recently spoke with Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst Allen Wallace. He gave a timetable for his decision, as well as a list of schools on top of his list of favorites. There is one notable absence.

Seattle (Wash.) defensive back Taylor Mays (6-3, 220, 4.5) said he favors Michigan, Notre Dame, Cal, Washington and Miami. All, as well as many others, have offered this standout recruit from O'Dea High School.

"I'm taking unofficial visits to both Michigan and Notre Dame in late July. I should know where I want to go to school after that," said Mays.

"I still want to make my commitment to a school sometime in August so that I can focus on the season ahead," he said.

"I'm looking forward to seeing both Michigan and Notre Dame…the two are both great, storied programs.

"I'm still into what's going on at California…and I really like the program at Washington because I've grown up around the program. I also like the style of football that Miami plays. They play with attitude and a great mentality," he said.

"I won't unofficially visit either Oklahoma or Nebraska. I might also get out to Miami this summer for another unofficial visit there. I got to go there to see the program back in the spring of 2004.

"With Oklahoma and Nebraska, I just don't think I could live in rural places like they have."
