GoBlueWolverine's Nike Basketball Camp Report

GoBlueWolverine starts its coverage of the NIKE All-American Camp today and Sam Webb has already observed a number of Michigan targets in action. We spent the morning watching Orchard Lake St. Mary's point guard Kalin Lucas rain threes, and hit runners in the lane, and Durrell Summers drive to the bucket with authority and 3 on 3 action.

Jamie Vanderbeken

Class of '06 target, Jamie Vanderbeken is adapting to the more intense camp atmosphere in the state like fellow Canadian prospect and former teammate Jevohn Shephard did last year. The 6-foot-10, 230-pounder mentioned an interest in Michigan, but it is wide open at this point. More to come on him later.

Kosta Koufos

Anoher big man receiving Michigan interest is 7 foot Canton, Ohio prospect Kosta Koufos. The Canton Glenn Oak center was scheduled to be one of three Ohio underclassmen to visit Ann Arbor last month (in addition to John Diebler and Chris Wright), but was unable to make it in when his mother's car broke down on the Ohio Turnpike. The good news for Michigan fans is, they are scheduled to return in the fall for a football game. More on Koufos in an interview later.

Chris Wright

Chris Wright, the 6-foot-6 high- flying forward from Trotwood, Ohio, had a great visit to Michigan last month with his mother. New Michigan assistant Mike Jackson was recruiting Wright while at Dayton and is now heading up that effort at Michigan. The day long presentation included information of the academic offerings at Michigan, a tour of the campus, and a chat with the Wolverine coaching staff. We will get the full details in an interview with Wright this evening.

John Diebler is not in attendance at the camp. GoBlueWolverine will catch up with him next week.

This afternoon we will be looking at a number of prospects including Deshawn Sims, Raymar Morgan, Jajuan Jones, Donte Green, Makcom Delaney, and many more. Stay tuned to GoBlueWolverine for full coverage.
