Fall Football Official Visits Already Being Set

College football staff cannot make phone calls to recruits until September 1st. However, recruits may call their recruiters anytime they want -- and several of Michigan's top kids have been making calls and scheduling fall official visits.

September 3rd Northern Illinois Game

Antwine Perez CB/S 6'2 195 4.5 Camden Woodrow Wilson New Jersey. Scout.com's #41 prospect (and #3 DB) has named a final three: U-M (Sept. 3 official visit), USC (Sept. 17) and LSU (Sept. 24). Perez will decide soon after these three visits and enter college in January.

September 10th Notre Dame game

Jonas Mouton S 6'2 212 4.50 Venice California. Scout.com's #42 prospect (and #4 DB) has scheduled a U-M official visit for Sept. 10 for the ND game. U-M and Nebraska are in his final 5, plus LSU is a threat (he grew up in the Bayou), and Oklahoma and USC are in the race for him as well. He's friends with Keston Cheathem and Eugene Germany. A Venice coach was one of the coaches at the U-M camp this past June.

November 19 Ohio State Game

Toryan Smith LB 6'0 241 4.61 Rome Georgia. Scout.com's #15 LB says he will take official visits to Oklahoma (Sept. 3), Notre Dame (Oct. 15), Michigan (Nov. 19 OSU game). He says his top schools are OK, Florida, Auburn and Alabama, but he will not take official visits to Deep South schools -- he'll drive to unofficial visits to those.

Possible official visit: Thaddeus Gibson LB/DL 6'3 207 4.40 Euclid Ohio> Scout.com's #47 prospect is leaning to OSU but has said he'd like to make his official U-M visit for the OSU/U-M game. The visit has not yet been scheduled.

Two additional notes:

(1) A.J. Wallace CB 6'1 195 4.37 Pomfret McDonough Maryland. U-M was his only summer camp, but he has since called and scheduled official visits to OSU (Sept. 10) and Nebraksa (Oct. 29) -- not to U-M. His mother grew up in Detroit and his dad has lived in the Motor City as well.

(2) DB recruiting. With Myron Rolle, Taylor Mays and Steve Brown all deciding before school starts, Antwine Perez deciding around Oct. 1st, and Jonas Mouton also visiting in Sept., U-M's defensive back recruiting is taking shape fast.
