What schools are you considering at this point?
Do you have a favorite?
"My top three is Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State."
What separates those schools from the rest?
"They've been recruiting me the hardest I think."
Talk about the head coaches at your top three.
"All fun guys. Coach Matta is probably the nicest, Coach Izzo is probably the funniest, and Coach Amaker is probably the realest. He is just going to tell you how it is. I like all three of them."
Which have offered.
"Michigan State. Michigan said they would offer. That's about it."
Does it mean anything to you that Michigan State was the first to offer you and they've been recruiting you hard all of the way through?
"Yeah, it does."
There are some pretty storied alums from your school that have gone on to Michigan and Michigan State. Have any of them talked to you about your decision?
"Actually Eric Snows sister…that's my godmother, so we're very close. He just said it's going to be the most important decision in my life. He just said focus and make the smartest decision. Do what's best for you."
Are you worried that Ohio State will run out of room for you?
"No, I'm not really worried about that. I'm choosing whichever college makes me the more comfortable. That's what I'm looking to do."
Has Ohio State clarified when they may offer and where you stand in relation to Thaddeus Young?
"No not really."
Have they offered Young?
"No, I don't think they've offered him either."
Where have you taken unofficial visits to?
"Arizona, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State. That's it."
Do you plan on taking official visits?
"I plan on taking official visits in the fall to Michigan State, Ohio State, and Michigan."
Do you plan to visit any of the other schools on your list?
UCONN…. and maybe Pittsburgh or Arizona.
It looks like Michigan has moved up your list/
"Yeah, they've come up a lot from like six to three. They're like in my third spot."
What are your feelings about the wolverines at this point?
"I really like Michigan. I really like the place they play at. I like the environment."
How do you feel about new schools coming into the equation at this point?
"It's all right. I'm used to it now, especially going into my senior season. I'm trying to keep it narrowed down to seven or less."
What will be the most important factors in your choice?
"Academics, the environment, and team chemistry I think."
Is location a factor for you?
"Yeah. I'm an only child so, yeah, I'd like to stay home. I'm so close to my family."
Do you have a decision timetable?
"Actually, I have no idea. I'm just waiting to see what is best for me right now."
Do you think it will be hard to make your decision
"No, I don't think it will be hard. I think on the official visit…I should know by then."
How do you think you've played at the camp?
"I think I've played all right. I'm still not showing what I want to show…my all-around game. I haven't really taken too many outside shots."
Did you come in with something to prove?
"Yeah, I think I've got something to prove. I was rated pretty low so I'm trying to show everybody I'm pretty good."
What part of your game are you working on the most?
"My range. Shooting. "
Canton McKinley had a great season last year winning the state title. Is there pressure to repeat?
"Our tradition is so high that we're expected to win it every year. That's
our goal and that's what we will be trying to do again next year."
