Summer Moving Fast for Adam Patterson

South Carolina defensive lineman Adam Patterson of Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, reports 25-30 offers. He told GoBlueWolverine Magazine on Thursday that he is receiving text messages every day from the staffs of some of the top programs in the country, including Michigan. As the summer speeds by for the talented player, he is taking his time with his recruiting.

"The summer is just flying by," defensive lineman Adam Patterson said. "I can't believe the season is almost here. We start camp on Friday."

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Richland Northeast star said he has received 25-30 offers, including Michigan. He recently told that he had narrowed his list to ten. Along with the Wolverines he named Maryland, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Clemson, South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, Penn State and Oklahoma. He told that none of those schools standout. "I really don't have a leader," he said. "I want to take my visits and check out some of the schools first. The coach at Florida is trying to get me to take an official visit down there for a game, but I haven't set any visits yet. I haven't decided which schools I'm going to visit."

He said all the schools on his list are contacting him by text messaging during the dead period, which is currently allowed under NCAA rules. However, he has mixed feelings on all the attention. "It is the only time in my life that I'll get to experience this," he said. "I'm lucky in that regard and it is an honor. But I have to reply to the coaches and text messaging costs me money."

Even so, Patterson said he is in no rush to end the process, stating he'll probably announce his choice on Signing Day. "I'll probably end up taking all of my (official) visits after the season so I can concentrate on checking the things I need to check with out any distractions," he said.

Patterson reports a 2.7 grade-point-average and said he will retake the SAT in August. He said as a junior he recorded 66 tackles with 11 for loss, and had six sacks.
