DeMarco Murray Profile Las Vegas (Nev.) running back/defensive back DeMarco Murray (6-0, 190, 4.5) said his top six schools are Florida, USC, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He named the schools in this order and all have offered.
"I haven't set up any official visits yet with any of those schools. I want to do that sometime in August," said Murray, from Bishop Gorman High School.
"Out of that list of my top six schools, everybody is on the same radar, and I don't have a leader out of them. They're all recruiting me real hard.
"I get a lot of handwritten letters and text messages from the coaches at Texas A&M, Florida and Miami. They are in touch a lot. They're all great schools and I'm thinking about them hard, but none of them stand out from each other yet.
"Michigan is recruiting me as both a running back and a defensive back," he said. "I know that I prefer playing running back…it's just what I want to do right now. I'm pretty sure I want to take an official visit there when I can because I know that it's a good school and they've always got a winning record.
"This past summer I was able to get out to both USC and Oklahoma for camps.
"I was able to establish a better relationship with coach (Todd) McNair (running backs) and coach (Pete) Carroll at that camp at USC. They're both really smart and they know how to get after it. I had a real good time there and I like the atmosphere in southern California.
"I like how the coaching staff at USC is really close with their players, and how they're looking to give me a shot at showing them what I can do as a freshman," he said.
"I also got to establish a closer relationship with coach (Cale) Gundy (running backs) at that camp at Oklahoma. He and coach (Bob) Stoops are really terrific guys. That was my second time there--I was there for an unofficial during the springtime also. They've got a great program and the campus is great. I like how the players were telling me some good things about the program. I like the players there and the atmosphere," he said.
