Cobrani Mixon Makes the Call: It's Michigan

After the Michigan camp, linebacker Cobrani Mixon of Colerain High School in Cincinnati told GBW that while he hadn't officially committed to Michigan, the Wolverines would probably be his choice. The weeks since have dragged on without an announcement. Today, he made the call to Coach Carr.

"I talked to coach Herrmann yesterday and told him I was committing to Michigan," Cobrani Mixon said. "But I wanted to talk to Coach Carr today before I made the announcement. I'm committed to Michigan."

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Mixon took some time after the Michigan camp to make his final decision. "My mom wanted me to check some things out just to make sure I was doing the right thing," he said. "I don't think I'll take any other visits."

Colerain Head Coach Kerry Coombs spoke recently with about his star LB. "With Cobrani, there are two things that are special about him. One, he tore his ACL in the fifth week of the season and he came back and played in the eighth week without surgery and finished the year. He's a tough kid and tough kids make great players. He was a great player before he got hurt. He was a good player after he got hurt. He's going to be healthy in the fall. He's 6-2, 225 and he can run like the wind. He's a physical player."

Mixon is the fifth commitment for Michigan, joining Brandon Graham, Justin Boren. Quintin Patilla, and David Cone as Michigan pledges for the recruiting class of 2006.
