Brown is the New Blue! DB Steve Brown Picks U-M

Maybe it was the TAPING THE MICHIGAN FLAG TO THE WALL THAT GAVE IT AWAY. Columbus, Indiana defensive back picked his childhood favorite Michigan in a press conference at his school this afternoon.

Initial quotes by Michigan's newest commitment, Steve Brown:

"It's Michigan!"

"I could see myself playing for other school, but I couldn't see myself playing against Michigan."

"I decided on Wednesday, and told Coach Carr then."

"I'm glad to get the process over with. Hopefully the mail and phone calls will stop coming now."

His head coach: "Steve's strength is his flexibility. He can do so much and play so many positions: running back, safety, cornerback."

Steve again: "Michigan was just the place I felt most comfortable, when I thought about it or when I talked to my girlfriend or to my parents and friends about it."

Steve Brown S/CB 6'1 200 4.39 Columbus East Indiana,'s #92 prospect, has picked Michigan at a press conference at his school at 4 PM EDT this afternoon.

Brown, who grew up a U-M fan, blew up this spring's Michigan Nike Camp with a 4.39 40, and was rewarded with early offers from Michigan and Notre Dame, who were his final two in the end.

Brown becomes Michigan commitment number six, joining LB Brandon Graham, OL Justin Boren, OLB Quintin Patilla, QB David Cone and LB Cobrani Mixon.
