The Bolingbrook (Ill.) High 6-foot, 180-pound senior point guard eliminated UConn after decreased interest by the Huskies – and also knocked out N.C. State after the Wolfpack called to inform him that they are no longer recruiting point guards in the Class of 2006.
"UConn didn't seem too interested anymore and N.C. State dropped out, so I'm down to two schools," said Walker, Scout.com's 78th ranked player in the nation. "It's made it easier. Much easier."
Walker, who has a 3.1 GPA and scored a 19 on the ACT, took an unofficial visit to DePaul earlier in the summer and will take an official to Michigan Labor Day weekend.
"I visited DePaul before I went to Las Vegas," Walker said. "It's only about 15 minutes from my house. I really like the new staff and the conference – and the fact it's right here, it's home."
"But I also like Coach (Tommy) Amaker," he added. "He's a real good guards coach and that's what I like. It's also in the Big Ten and my family can see more of my games, because most of the road games aren't that far away."
