Micah Johnson Attending UofL games, Setting Visits

Fort Campbell High School's Micah Johnson, who is among Scout.com's Top 10 prospects nationally, told InsideTheVille.com that he'll attend the UofL-UK game on September 4th and that he's planning on visiting Louisville for a game - or two. He is also setting his official visits.

While he has first official visit scheduled for the first week of September to Georgia set, Scout.com 5-star prospect Micah Johnson of Fort Campbell (KY) High School told InsideTheVille.com that he intends to make a few unofficial visits to the two Division IA in-state programs.

"I'm going to go to the Louisville - Kentucky game," he said on Wednesday. "I'm also planning on going to a couple games up at Louisville."

While Johnson doesn't plan to visit any other schools prior to the start of the season, he did say that he remains in frequent contact with the Louisville coaching staff.

"They still want to me to be a running back for them," said Johnson, who as a junior racked up over 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also recording 173 tackles from his linebacker position.

This past weekend the 6-foot-2, 252-pound Johnson visited Kentucky for the program's final open practice of the fall camp season.

"It went pretty good," he said of the visit. "I actually went up to see my brother, but got a chance to look around. It was crazy - people were asking me for my autograph."

Johnson also said that he is in the process of setting up an official visit to Michigan. Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Virginia are among the schools that continue to receive high interest from Johnson.

"I'm still pretty wide open to an extent," he said. "No team has the edge right now."

Fort Campbell will open it's 2005 season this weekend when they host Paducah (KY) Tilghman High School.
